Sandwich NIght

Last night was just one of though night were no one in the house really knew what they wanted for
dinner. I had left over chicken so I came up with the idea for Chicken Philly Cheese sandwich.
All I had was sandwich lunch meat which I knew that wasn't going to hold everything so I went to the store to buy artisan cheese bread. What I like about this meal is it really just cost about $4.00 for four people so about $1.00 a people if have all the ingredients already in the house.
I'm not sure how long it really took to make this, but I do know it was about 20 minutes to make.

About 10 minutes of prep time
Cook time was about 10 minutes
Ingredients:
  • Left over chicken
  • One green and red bell pepper
  • Pre sliced mushrooms
  • Medium cheddar
  • Artisan cheese bread
  • 2 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar
  • A pinch of seasoning salt
  • Salt/Pepper
Instructions:
Prepare your bell peppers, cheese & mushrooms.

Preheat your oven to Broil high.

Cut the artisan loaf in half. Drizzle a tablespoon over each side of the bread along with the tablespoon of red wine vinegar & sprinkle with salt and pepper. Preheat a medium skillet or griddle with the rest of the olive oil over medium heat.

Reheat the chicken until warm, then place the veggies over top using that pinch of seasoning salt. Place the ingredients on the bread (or as my husband would say building you masterpiece). Set on a cookie sheet and broil for a few minutes till the cheese is nice and melted.
Then it is Serve and enjoy.

I used an artificial lighting tutorial found [Here] to take these photos.
Equipment:
Canon 7d
50mm lens F/1.8
External Flash Yongnuo YN560
Yongnuo Receiver/trigger
Flash Diffuser dome
Two white pillow cases for the background.
Image:

Dirt City Roller Rats vs. Foothill Foxy Flyers

Hey everyone,

I've finally got out to see a game of The Dirt City Roller Rats (DCRR) vs. The Foothill Foxy Flyers. As I said in my post Roller derby is anger management at its finest. It is a fast paced, full contact and strategic plus athletic.
Definitely not a sport to learn in one day
There are five players from each team 4 blockers and a jammer.
Blockers: are there to assist their jammer block opponent.
Pivot: lead and directs blockers they are the ones with the stripe on their helmets
Jammers: Pass opposing blockers to score points they are the ones with the stars on their helmets.
  1. When the first whistle the game starts with the "Pack" leading off. Once the second whistle goes off then it is the jammers job to get through the pack while the blockers are doing what they do best.
  2. The first jammer through becomes the "lead jammer"
  3. The second pass is where the jammer passes the opposing blockers to score. A lead jammer can call of the jam.
Roller derby is really a great empowerment for women all over the world.

So with all this being said I hope you enjoy the photos from the game.

Water Droplets

Hey there.
I was recently asked how to photograph water droplets, so I made a BTS (behind the scenes) on my setup.
I usually use a clip instead of skewers, but it's all I had available during this session.
Once you get set up, put a hole in the corner of the bag, small enough to allow the water to drip at a decent speed. I found an excellent way to focus by placing a pen where the water is splashing and manually focusing through the eyepiece or if you have a DSLR camera that has a live view, that can help out.
After the focusing is done, it is time to set up the camera with the aperture, shutter speed, and external flash. The aperture should be F/5.6 - 8.0 for the images below. I shot them mostly in an f/6.3 to the depth of field in control.
Off-camera flash, a receiver, and trigger are needed most of the cameras the sync is1/200 to 1/250 secs. Anything higher than that will cause a black streak.

Don't be afraid to play around. Get creative with colors & the splashes themselves. I've seen so many amazing shots done with water. Doing a shoot like this takes patience, so don't give up because you feel like you can't get it on the first try. This is a learning experiment.

Lately I've been in an artist mood. I'm pretty proud of myself I've really drawn anything since the Dragon tattoo I designed for a friend of mine.

Here is some older artwork of my that I could find, but still love to look at from time to time.

Sorry for the crappy phone pictures.
